Dr. Ian Mathieson
Ian is a senior lecturer at the Wales Centre for Podiatric Studies, which is based at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. His teaching responsibilities include biomechanics and human gait to year one, orthotic theory to year 2 and Podiatric Sports Medicine to year 3.
He has a keen interest in research methods and evidence-based practice, and teaches this subject to a variety of allied health profession undergraduates. He also leads a research module which feeds into several Masters degree programmes offered by the School of Health and Social Sciences at UWIC.
Ian has recently completed his PhD investigating the relationship between mechanical foot dysfunction and chronic low back pain.
Shaun Kelly
Shaun is a Registered Podiatrist. Following a 23 year career in the Royal Navy Medical Services, he started in private practice eight years ago. His practice has developed into two multi-disciplined clinics offering Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Sport Injury, Biomechanics and Acupuncture. He employs 5 practitioners at present on a part and full time basis.
He is also retained as the Sport Therapist for his local Rugby Union Club, which is one of his passions, others being his dogs and horses.
